Welcome

Here at the Litegreen Foundation CIC, we believe that choosing between eating and heating should not be a choice anyone needs to make.

We are excited to announce that we are launching a new community interest company to combat the cost-of-living & energy crisis to make a positive impact for people living in older, colder homes.𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗮𝗹𝗹! We're also dedicated to giving back to our community and #WEARECHAGINGTHEWAYITSDONE.

Through strategic partnerships and collaborations, we will reinvest our profits to support local initiatives, charitable organisations, community groups and projects that align with our values and contribute to the well-being of our community.

Navigation between the cost-of-living crisis, the energy crisis and the climate crisis should be a challenge no person should face alone. So we’re making it easier for people living in the most vulnerable circumstances & least energy efficient homes to access expert impartial energy advice & get support accessing funding that upgrades & improves the energy efficiency of their homes.

We're proud to be a Welsh business born in Wrexham, employing local residents.

Our goal is to use profits earned from the 'big 6' energy companies, who are reporting record profits during this energy and fuel crisis, to support social causes throughout Wrexham, North Wales and beyond! We're committed to helping those who are most vulnerable, as well as everyone else who is struggling with skyrocketing costs.

Unfortunately, homes in Wales and the UK are among the least efficient in Western Europe, and vulnerable individuals are often the ones who are most affected. Poor housing standards can have deadly consequences, which is why we are determined to take action.

While simple measures like swapping out light bulbs, radiator foils and reducing heating usage can help, they may not be enough for those people or buildings who are struggling the most.

We are here to address inefficient older buildings at the root cause, rather than treating the symptoms.

Currently, there is a lack of access to impartial experts in buildings & energy for support and independent energy advice from qualified professionals with industry experience. This can result in people living in less energy-efficient homes experiencing poorer health and quality of life.

Additionally, those in desperate situations are at risk of being targeted by 'pop-up' cold callers and unscrupulous energy product installers, who may not provide the appropriate solution or continued support. Unfortunately, we are currently assisting a significant number of homes that have fallen victim to misleading promises of completely eliminating fuel bills, only to realise that such claims are not true. We've been in this field for years and have gained a great understanding of who we should collaborate with and who we should steer clear of.

At the Litegreen Foundation CIC, we aim to disrupt the trend by working collaboratively with local charitable organisations and social value businesses from across sectors to turn profit into social funding. We believe that tackling the cost of living and energy crisis at their root cause is crucial, and we are committed to doing everything we can to make a positive impact in the lives of those we help.

One thing that sets us apart is our commitment to being truly impartial. We don't have anything to sell.

This means that we can provide expert advice and support that is unbiased and completely focused on helping you. We have a team of qualified energy advisors and building inspectors that will put you at the center of your home and help provide the right advice, guidance and support to make informed decisions about your home and all the other amazing hl that is out there for you to access.

We live and work in North Wales and are active members of our communities.

The Litegreen Foundation CIC is a company limited by guarantee, meaning our profits go back into community projects in Wrexham & North Wales. We are proud and active members of our community, with successful backgrounds in the charity sector, which has helped shape this drive. We want to disrupt the trends and get as much of the Governments UK wide budget spent in our area.

Stay tuned as we expand to discover both success stories and cautionary tales, providing valuable lessons on what to do and who to steer clear of.

Let us know

There are over 4 million UK households in fuel poverty.

Fuel poverty means any home that spends more than 10% of their income on energy bills for heat and power. That's more people than you think and has coined the new phase 'the working poor' as everyone starts to feel the pinch. But this can be particularly problematic for households with lower incomes, health inequalities or those living in properties with poor energy efficiency, which may require even more energy (and money) to keep warm.

Retrofitting homes to help.

When we talk about retrofit, we mean making physical improvements to an already existing buildings fabric and systems to make them more energy-efficient. Retrofitting can include adding measures like more insulation, double-glazing, and more efficient heating systems like air source heat pumps, which can help reduce energy consumption and bills for households, while also reducing carbon emissions. Our retrofit assessors are completely impartial as we have nothing to sell. They look at the whole house and the people that live in them and only make these recommendations if it suits the need.

It can be an expensive process.

While retrofitting has the potential to make a significant impact on fuel poverty and carbon emissions, saving people money in the short and long-term, it can be an expensive process, and many households may not have the financial means to pay for such upgrades. This is where experts like the Litegreen Foundation CIC come in. We aim to provide impartial energy advice and support accessing funding that upgrades and improves the energy efficiency of homes. By doing so, we hope to tackle the cost-of-living crisis, the energy crisis, and the climate crisis, while ensuring that vulnerable households are not left behind.
